In the past 2 years i cannot fault the EMS, the other good point about it, its adaptable to any car. i remember the total being about $2700, unsure of the break down of parts and labour etc. As for the stinger i believe it is laptop only (hand controller does come in handy for quick adjustments on the go ) and also i believe that the stinger has 2 programable outputs.Įxample of DUAL SPORT outputs: Fan control, RPM activated relay control, KPA activated relay control, TPS activated relay control, RPM + KPA relay control, RPM + TPS relay control, Turbo timer, Tacho output, RPM PWM duty control, KPA PWM duty control, TPS PWM duty control, idle speed PWM duty control.Įxample of DUAL SPORT inputs: Setup switch (changes between maps (example: ROAD MAPS - RACING MAPS))įrom memory, the Dual Sport with hand controller and boost control solenoid cost around $1500 - $1700 and then about another grand in fitting. Unsure as to the spec's of the 8860, mine is the Dual sport ,i know that much. I like both Wolf and Autronic - they have a lot of functions(Autronic obviously has the better name and probably is more technically advanced). Microtech seems to be the best and easiest in terms of low price. Wolf and Autronic have more advance functions and more imputs. The EMS stinger and Microtech mtx8 are both low priced. Wolf, Autronic and Fuel logic use closed loop.Īutronic is fussy about sensors - dont know if they will be problems. I really like the Autronic's auto tuning! It allows the system to generate its own mapping numbers. (Autronic SM2 does but I don't know about the SMC) They all have boost control! Yeah! Its becoming more advanced too.ĭon't know which ones have knock sensors. Microtech doesn't have laptop tuning.? I know they have a really cool handset :E but does anyone know how efficient it is? EMS only has handset for the 8868 which would bump price to $1858 - getting expensive. it would be useful though so that gives a point to Wolf & Microtech. Has anyone heard of any of these being installed? But apparently they have reasonable abilities. I'm unsure of Hawk and Fuel Logic since they are uncommon. Microtech Mtx12 - $1395 and mtx8 - $1095 handset is $150Īutronic SMC - $1689 but SM2 is too much at $2484 ($220 for auto tune function!) Wolf3d V4 (version 4 is much improved) $1395 (including handset) That leaves Haltec E6k - $1595 (+$200 with boost control)ĮMS 8860 is $1600 and Stinger 4424 is only $995 hand control is $258 In terms of price and practicality I rule out straight away Motec, Electomotive ($4500!), Link, Ecutec and Apexi. Its really difficult to know which would be best for the car. It includes Motec, Haltech, EMS, Wolf, Electromotive, Link, Microtech, Autronic, Hawk, Ecutek, Fuel logic and Apexi. The lastest Zoom magazine has a really good review of the current management systems.
